Padang Bai and Candidasa sit on Bali’s east coast and offer two completely different diving experiences within the same 2-day package. Padang Bai is one of Bali’s most rewarding macro destinations – nudibranchs, seahorses, frogfish, shrimps, and rare crustaceans across sandy slopes and sheltered reef sites including the famous Blue Lagoon. A short boat ride east, Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong near Candidasa deliver a dramatic contrast – steep drop-offs, strong currents, white-tip reef sharks, and Mola Mola sightings in season (July–October).
This 2-day dive package covers 5 guided dives across both areas by traditional jukung boat, with one night in Sanur, daily breakfast and lunch, and all transfers included. A natural macro-to-pelagic progression across two days – no two dives alike.
Day 1 is pure macro – sandy slopes, sheltered bays, and reef corners hiding nudibranchs, frogfish, seahorses, and shrimps across Padang Bai’s most productive sites. Day 2 switches entirely to open ocean topography – Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong’s steep walls, caves, and drop-offs with white-tip reef sharks, strong currents, and Mola Mola sightings in season (July–October). Few 2-day packages in Bali offer this range of underwater environments.
Both days operate from Padang Bai by traditional Balinese outrigger jukung boats – a more personal and intimate way to dive than larger dive boats. Maximum 4 divers per guide ensures close attention on every dive, particularly useful for macro spotting on Day 1 and current briefings on Day 2.
Day 1 at Padang Bai’s Blue Lagoon and macro sites is accessible to Open Water certified divers. Day 2 at Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong requires Advanced Open Water certification – these sites involve deeper profiles, stronger currents, and more demanding conditions. Non-diving companions are welcome on both days. Snorkeling is comfortable at Blue Lagoon on Day 1. Snorkeling at Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong on Day 2 is possible but requires confidence in open water with current – discuss with our team before booking if unsure.
Pick-up from your hotel in South Bali and transfer to our Sanur dive center for gear fitting and paperwork, then a one-hour drive to our Padang Bai dive base. Your guide handles all logistics on arrival while you prepare for the first dive.
Pick-up from your hotel in Sanur and transfer to Padang Bai (one hour).
Certification note: Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong involve strong currents, deeper profiles, and surge conditions. Advanced Open Water certification – or equivalent documented experience – is required for Day 2. If conditions are unsuitable on the day, your guide will substitute alternative sites in Padang Bai.
This marks the end of your 2-day Padang Bai & Candidasa diving adventure – 5 guided dives across East Bali’s most diverse underwater environments.

Day 1 covers three dives in Padang Bai – Blue Lagoon, Tanjung Sari, and either Jepun or The Jetty depending on conditions. These are Padang Bai’s most productive macro sites, known for nudibranchs, frogfish, ghost pipefish, shrimps, and ribbon eels. Day 2 moves to Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong near Candidasa – steep walls, reef sharks, underwater caves, and Mola Mola sightings in season (July–October). If conditions at Gili Mimpang or Tepekong are unsuitable on the day, your guide will substitute alternative sites in Padang Bai.
Day 1 at Padang Bai’s Blue Lagoon and macro sites is accessible to Open Water certified divers with recent experience. Day 2 at Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong requires Advanced Open Water certification – or equivalent documented experience. These sites involve stronger currents, deeper profiles, and surge conditions that are not suitable for beginner or recently certified divers. If you are unsure whether your experience level qualifies, contact us before booking and our team will advise.
Padang Bai macro sites are productive year-round – macro life does not follow seasonal patterns the way pelagic encounters do. Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong are also diveable throughout the year, with Mola Mola sightings possible from July to October when cold upwellings reach the sites. Conditions at Gili Tepekong can be challenging regardless of season – our team monitors the sites daily and will always brief you honestly before departure.
Yes. Non-diving companions are welcome on both days at a companion rate of 2,600,000 IDR, which includes hotel, meals, transfers, and snorkeling gear. Snorkeling is comfortable at Blue Lagoon on Day 1. Snorkeling at Gili Mimpang and Gili Tepekong on Day 2 is possible for confident open-water swimmers comfortable with current – discuss with our team before booking if unsure. Solo divers are also welcome – contact us directly to check availability to join an existing group. A single room supplement of 500,000 IDR applies for private accommodation.
