The northwest corner of Bali is one of the island’s most rewarding diving regions – and this 2-day dive package covers its two most contrasting environments back to back. Menjangan Island sits inside the protected Bali Barat National Park and offers dramatic coral walls, giant sea fans, and schooling reef fish alongside reef sharks and eagle rays. Gilimanuk’s Secret Bay is Bali’s most celebrated muck diving destination – a black sand slope where hairy frogfish, ghost pipefish, seahorses, and mandarin fish hide in plain sight.
Four guided dives across both sites, with one night in a charming hotel in Pemuteran, daily breakfast and lunch, and all transfers from South Bali included. A 3-hour drive from Sanur – worth every kilometre.
Menjangan Island delivers some of the most visually spectacular wall diving in Bali – coral-encrusted vertical drop-offs, giant sea fans, dense schools of fish, and reef sharks patrolling the deeper sections inside a protected national park. Secret Bay in Gilimanuk is the polar opposite – a shallow black sand slope where the entire game is slow, patient macro spotting. Ghost pipefish, dragonets, mandarin fish, and seahorses in the same package as towering coral walls. Very few 2-day packages in Bali offer this range.
The drive to Pemuteran takes you through some of Bali’s most dramatic highland scenery. Surface intervals at Menjangan offer views across the Bali Strait toward Java’s volcanic peaks. The Bali Barat National Park surrounds you on land and underwater – a level of natural immersion that South Bali dive trips simply cannot replicate.
Maximum 4 divers per guide on every dive – essential at Secret Bay, where the experience is unlike anywhere else in Bali – shallow, calm, and unhurried, with a black sand and rubble slope that rewards slow, attentive diving. Visibility varies from crystal clear to milky – that is part of the Gilimanuk character. Our team dives here regularly and knows the site’s current mood, resident critters, and best entry timing. The 3-hour transfer from South Bali is fully handled – pick-up, driving, boat logistics, and drop-off. You arrive ready to dive.
Pick-up from your hotel in South Bali and transfer to our Sanur dive center for gear fitting and paperwork, then a scenic 3.5-hour drive northwest through Bali’s highland interior to the coast.
Check out from your hotel and drive 40 minutes through Bali Barat National Park to Gilimanuk.
This marks the end of your 2-day Menjangan & Gilimanuk diving adventure – 4 guided dives across the most remote and rewarding corner of Bali.
Not a macro diver? Day 2 can be swapped for Pemuteran’s coral restoration reef and wall sites – a shallower, colour-rich alternative with healthy coral gardens and reef fish. Let us know your preference when booking.
Want to extend your stay? An extra night in Pemuteran allows a third dive day at Menjangan or Pemuteran sites, or a scenic return via Munduk and Pura Danau Bratan. Contact us for options.

Day 1 covers two wall dives at Menjangan Island inside Bali Barat National Park – Garden Eel, a spectacular wall transitioning to white sandy slopes, and Bat Cave, known for its overhangs, hidden cracks, and dense marine life. Day 2 moves to Secret Bay in Gilimanuk for two contrasting muck dives – the west side beneath the jetty with Banggai cardinalfish and sponges, and the east side’s classic muck and debris terrain with seahorses, dragonets, ghost pipefish, and rare crustaceans. Not a macro diver? Day 2 can be swapped for Pemuteran’s coral restoration reef and wall sites – let us know your preference when booking.
Open Water certification – or equivalent – is sufficient for all dives in this package. Menjangan Island walls are accessible to all recreational divers and are among Bali’s most beginner-friendly wall dives despite their impressive scale. Secret Bay in Gilimanuk is shallow and calm, making it equally suitable for newly certified divers. If you have not dived in over 12 months, we recommend a refresher dive before departure.
The 3-day West Bali package adds a full day of muck diving at Puri Jati – one of Bali’s most productive macro sites – before Menjangan and Gilimanuk. It covers 7 dives across three days with two nights in Pemuteran, giving significantly more time in the northwest. The Hairy Frog 2-day package is the compact version – ideal if your time in Bali is limited or you want a first taste of West Bali diving before committing to a longer trip.
Yes. Non-diving companions are welcome at a companion rate of 3,400,000 IDR, which includes hotel, meals, all transfers, and snorkeling gear. Snorkeling is possible at Menjangan Island – one of Bali’s most beautiful snorkeling spots with clear water and healthy coral gardens just below the surface. This package requires a minimum of 2 participants – either 2 divers, or 1 diver and 1 non-diving companion. A single room supplement of 500,000 IDR applies for private accommodation.
