The Liberty Wreck sank in 1942 and now rests in shallow water just metres from the shore – one of the most accessible and rewarding wreck dives on the planet. By day it is covered in schooling fish, bumphead parrotfish, and vibrant soft corals. By night it transforms completely, with Spanish dancers, hunting lionfish, and crustaceans emerging under torchlight. Beyond the wreck, Tulamben offers over 15 dive sites along a short stretch of coastline – dramatic walls, coral gardens, and macro life hidden in the black sand. This package covers the best of them.

The Liberty Wreck – Day and Night – In One Package
Most divers visit the Liberty Wreck once. This package gives you three dives on it – a daytime wreck dive, a wall dive on the adjacent Drop-Off, and a night dive as the centrepiece of Day 1. The wreck changes completely after dark. What looks familiar by day becomes extraordinary under torchlight – hunting groupers, Spanish dancers, lionfish, and crustaceans that only emerge at night. Very few 2-day packages in Bali include a night dive as standard.
Flexible Day 2 – Tailored to Your Diving Style
Day 2 is yours to shape. After breakfast your guide discusses the options – Kubu Wreck for a second wreck dive, macro sites on Tulamben’s black sand slopes, or the coral garden. An optional third dive is available for +400,000 IDR if you want to squeeze every possible minute underwater before the drive back to South Bali.
Wake Up Metres from the Dive Sites
One night in a charming hotel in Tulamben means no early morning transfers on Day 2. You wake up, have breakfast, and walk to the dive site. A completely different pace from day trip diving – and one of the reasons Tulamben rewards those who stay overnight.
Daily Itinerary – 2-Day Tulamben Dive Package
Day 1 – Tulamben: Liberty Wreck, Drop-Off & Night Dive – 3 Dives – Overnight Tulamben
Pick-up from your hotel in South Bali and transfer to our Sanur dive center for gear fitting and paperwork, then depart for Tulamben (approx. 2h30).
- Dive 1 – USAT Liberty Wreck: Arrive at Tulamben and head straight to one of the world’s most accessible wreck dives – schooling fish, vibrant soft corals, macro life, and the atmospheric wreck structure at every depth.
- Lunch with ocean views at the hotel restaurant.
- Check in at your Tulamben hotel.
- Dive 2 – Tulamben Drop-Off: Black sand wall dive with giant gorgonian sea fans, bumphead parrotfish, reef sharks, and unique critters along every surface.
- Afternoon relaxation by the pool.
- Dive 3 – Liberty Wreck Night Dive: The wreck transformed after dark – hunting groupers, Spanish dancers, and crustaceans emerging under torchlight.

The package includes 5 guided dives with a certified multilingual Divemaster or Instructor, full diving equipment (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins, weights, 12L tank), one night in a charming hotel in Tulamben, daily breakfast and lunch, all land transfers between South Bali and Tulamben, marine park entry fees, and local taxes. Dinners are at your own leisure – our guides are happy to recommend their favourite local restaurants in Tulamben.
No – all dives on this package are accessible to Open Water certified divers. The Liberty Wreck and Tulamben Drop-Off are suitable for all levels, and the night dive is included as standard. If you are a beginner diver with limited recent experience, let us know when booking and our guides will adapt the program to your comfort level.
Solo divers are welcome. The package requires a minimum of 2 participants – either 2 divers or 1 diver with a non-diving companion. Solo travelers should contact us directly so we can check availability to join an existing group. A single room supplement of 500,000 IDR applies for private accommodation. Non-diving partners can join at a companion rate of 2,600,000 IDR, which includes hotel, meals, transfers, and snorkeling gear at suitable sites.
