The only Bali dive package dedicated entirely to West Bali – and one of the most distinctive dive circuits on the island. Over 3 days and 7 guided dives, this itinerary takes you through three completely different underwater environments along Bali’s northwest coast. Day 1 explores the muck diving paradise of Puri Jati – rare critters, unusual species, and a completely unique seascape. Day 2 dives the iconic walls of Menjangan Island inside Bali Barat National Park – pristine drop-offs, garden eels, and sea fans. Day 3 finishes at Secret Bay in Gilimanuk – one of Bali’s most legendary muck diving sites, with bizarre marine life found nowhere else on the island. Two nights in charming hotels in Pemuteran, daily breakfast and lunch, all transfers and full equipment included – everything organised so you arrive ready to dive.
Every other Bali dive package focuses on East Bali or Nusa Penida. This itinerary goes in the opposite direction – to the quieter, less-visited northwest coast where dive sites are less crowded, marine life is undisturbed, and the underwater environments are completely different from anywhere else on the island. If you want to dive Bali away from the crowds, this is the package.
No two days dive the same environment. Day 1 explores Puri Jati’s muck diving – sandy, silty seabeds hiding rare critters, unusual species, and macro life most divers never encounter. Day 2 moves to the pristine walls of Menjangan Island inside Bali Barat National Park – dramatic drop-offs, garden eels, sea fans, and crystal-clear visibility. Day 3 finishes at Secret Bay in Gilimanuk – one of Bali’s most legendary muck diving sites, with bizarre marine life found nowhere else on the island.
Menjangan Island sits inside Bali Barat National Park, one of the most protected marine areas in Bali. The walls here are untouched – dense sea fans, vibrant soft corals, and dramatic drop-offs with exceptional visibility. Accessed by traditional outrigger boat with views of Java’s volcanoes across the strait, Menjangan is unlike any other dive site in Bali.
West Bali rewards those who slow down. Add a day in Pemuteran for a sunset mandarin fish dive and two more dives on Pemuteran’s drop-offs and eco-reef – one of Bali’s most relaxed and rewarding dive bases (+2,400,000 IDR per diver). Or extend your trip with a scenic return via Munduk, Pura Danau Bratan, and Pasar Kuning market – a full cultural day through Bali’s highlands before arriving back in South Bali. Contact us to arrange either option.
Transfers follow Bali’s scenic northwest coastal road – a completely different Bali from the tourist south. Two nights in charming hotels in the tranquil village of Pemuteran, daily breakfast and lunch, all boat transfers including traditional outriggers to Menjangan Island, full equipment, and all national park entry fees. Everything arranged so you focus entirely on diving.
Early pick-up from your hotel in South Bali and transfer to our Sanur dive center for gear fitting and paperwork, then depart along Bali’s northwest coastal road to Seririt (approx. 3 hours).
After breakfast, a short drive to Labuan Lalang pier, then board a traditional outrigger boat to Menjangan Island inside Bali Barat National Park (approx. 30 minutes).
After breakfast and check-out, transfer to Secret Bay in Gilimanuk (approx. 40 minutes) – one of Bali’s most legendary muck diving sites.
This marks the end of your 3-day West Bali diving adventure – 7 dives across Puri Jati, Menjangan Island and Secret Bay Gilimanuk, three of Bali’s most unique and rewarding dive environments.
Muck diving is the art of finding extraordinary marine life in seemingly ordinary environments – sandy slopes, silty seabeds, and shallow bays that most divers would pass over. Look closely and you find ambon scorpionfish perfectly camouflaged against the sand, ghost pipefish drifting invisibly among sea grass, and frogfish sitting motionless on rubble waiting to ambush prey. West Bali offers three of Bali’s most productive muck diving environments back to back – Puri Jati, Secret Bay Gilimanuk, and the sandy approaches of Menjangan Island. This package is designed for divers who slow down, look carefully, and find things others miss.

This is the only Bali dive package dedicated entirely to West Bali – covering three completely different dive environments that no other package on the island visits together. Over 3 days and 7 guided dives you experience Puri Jati’s muck diving, the pristine walls of Menjangan Island inside Bali Barat National Park, and the legendary Secret Bay in Gilimanuk. Two nights in the tranquil village of Pemuteran, away from the crowds of South Bali and Nusa Penida – a completely different side of Bali underwater.
The package includes 7 guided dives with a certified multilingual Divemaster or Instructor, full diving equipment (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins, weights, 12L tank), two nights in a charming hotel in Pemuteran near the dive sites, daily breakfast and lunch, all land and boat transfers including traditional outrigger to Menjangan Island, Bali Barat National Park entry fees, and local taxes. Dinners are at your own leisure – our guides are happy to recommend and join you at their favourite local restaurants in Pemuteran.
No – all seven dives on this package are accessible to Open Water certified divers. Secret Bay in Gilimanuk has a maximum depth of 9m, Puri Jati’s sandy slopes are gentle and unhurried, and Menjangan Island’s walls are suitable for all certification levels. That said, this itinerary is best appreciated by divers who enjoy slowing down and looking carefully – muck diving rewards patience and observation more than experience level.
Muck diving means searching for extraordinary marine life in sandy, silty environments that most divers overlook. At first glance these sites look empty – but they hide frogfish, ghost pipefish, ambon scorpionfish, nudibranchs, and rare crustaceans that are simply not found on coral reefs. If you enjoy macro photography, unusual species, and the thrill of spotting something others miss, muck diving is one of the most rewarding experiences in Bali. Our guides know these sites intimately and will find creatures you would never spot alone.
Yes – two extension options are available. Add a Pemuteran diving day (+2,400,000 IDR per diver) for 3 more dives including a sunset mandarin fish dive and one additional night half-board in Pemuteran. Or extend your return to South Bali with a scenic cultural day through Bali’s highlands – Munduk, Pura Danau Bratan lake temple, and Pasar Kuning market. Solo divers are welcome – the package requires a minimum of 2 participants. Contact us to arrange either option or to check availability for joining an existing group.
