Nusa Penida Lembongan Diving

Nusa Penida Lembongan diving is about 45 minutes speedboat ride from Sanur, and has several dive sites.

One is a great spot  for seeing Manta rays, either feeding or being cleaned, with close encounters more than likely. Another dive site is world-famous for finding Oceanic Sunfish – Mola Molas.

Other sites have great coral, deep walls, and currents making good drift-dives; you need a very experienced guide to dive safely here, and get the benefits of these dive-sites.

There are also many good snorkelling sites here around the North coast of Penida and Lembongan.

Description

Manta Point
is the place to go to see mantas, or just around the corner, Manta Bay. The Mantas are nearly always there, but of course the water conditions make a difference to your manta sightings. The best point to be is about 9m deep, with a slope going out into the blue where the boat waits.
A mostly sandy or rocky bottom has some coral, and there are often many other types of ray to be seen here.
Snorkelers also often get good Manta sightings here!

Crystal Bay
is famous for seeing MolaMolas. In the bay is really nice coral, with many reef dwellers; then the coral turns down into a wall as you get further out into the channel between Penida and Ceningan. You need to be quite an advanced diver to go to see the molas out on the wall, as there can be strong currents here both going out into the blue, and going down. If the conditions are good, there is a cave to swim into, and plenty to explore!

Toya Pakeh
the coral is beautiful here, from 5 m sloping down into the blue of the channel – which is very deep! Toya Pakeh is slightly sheltered, not getting the direct currents which run along the north coast but still getting some; it has mostly hard coral due to the currents washing  over it several times a day, bringing nutrients from the deep. Not too strong, it often gives a nice drift-dive, and you can see both deep-water fish and reef dwellers.

North coast
SD, PED, and several other divesites make up the coast across the north of the island, which are very similar; from about 5m it slopes down, getting steeper, until it disappeares into the channel, which is very deep. Mostly hard coral, with many reef fish, here the currents get strong (depending on the tides) and can sweep you along at a really fun rate!

Ceningan wall
A huge wall with massive currents! Fantastic coral and a chance to see MolaMola, Eagle rays, Manta rays – but not for beginners or the faint-hearted. Perfect control, professional equipment and a low air-consumption are needed; we only take the very experienced.
